Sitting here,
Cuddling my fourth, fifth? deep red glass of wine
Nursing fragments of my raw emotion
Trying hard to transport myself to a now distant time
To the honey-dipped moments gone
When I smiled and felt you against it,
When my every stretch run into you,
When the end of my giggle was the kiss of your palm.
Trying to roll back this thick wave
to the shore line where our crazy feet hit the welcoming grit of sand
Seize your hand again
Back
back
Back in time to when the rain found my cheeks puffed with laughter,
When I stepped light in your direction,
Falling delightfully to be caught,
Just once, give me a little time back.
All I want to do is hear you snore in my hair
Just once:
So I can figure why we woke from the dream.
